Roasting Coffee

April 17th, 2010

When roasting coffee beans it is important to first consume coffee from a roaster to experience great flavor. You can also use green coffee beans, which stay fresh much longer than those that have been through a roaster. Green coffee beans will stay fresh for up to, or longer than six months if they are stored correctly, while those gourmet coffee beans that go though a roaster will last for only a week because within a week coffee from the roaster will begin to oxidize. Another important thing to remember is that once the coffee is already ground, you cannot be assured of its freshness and quality, but when roasting your own green coffee you are guaranteed one hundred percent fresh!
